“Security Agreement Should Be Signed In Accordance With Mutual National Interests”: Khalili

Kabul (BNA) Ambassador James Warliek the special envoy of the US president for Afghanistan and Pakistan and his accompanying delegation met yesterday with Mohammad Karim Khalili second vice-president.
The US special envoy expressed pleasure over progress in the talks on security agreement between Afghanistan and the US and added that fortunately the third round of bilateral talks in this respect has ended that accompanied with constructive and hopeful talks over reaching consensus on the agreement.
He added that signing of the strategic agreement between the two countries and efforts for reaching agreement on signing of the security agreement between Kabul and Washington, is conveying a strong message for the government and the people of Afghanistan, the region and especially to the armed opposition of government of Afghanistan that the international community and especially the US after 2014 will remain on the side of the people of Afghanistan and mutual cooperation in different spheres will continue between them.”
The special envoy added that US administration is fully prepared that the security agreement between the two countries is being signed as soon as possible. 
According to him agreement over this treaty covers the national high interests of the two nations and during the bilateral talks efforts were made that so that the atmosphere of friendship and all round cooperation between the  two nations is further strengthened. 
Mohammad Karim Khalili called Afghanistan and the US two good partners in the international arena and stressed that in the light of close cooperation between the two nations; so far bold steps have been taken for institutionalization of democracy in Afghanistan and the struggle against international terrorism in the region. 
Khalili added that conclusion of the strategic cooperation agreement between Kabul and Washington which was signed by the presidents of the two nations, was a national requirement and called agreement on the security treaty between the two nations as a complement of strategic treaty and a very important step.
