Afghanistan Ulama Council Supports Peace Accord Between Govt., HIA

Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with head and members of Afghanistan’s Ulama Council at the Presidential Palace the other day, his office said in a statement.
According to the statement, at the outset, Sayed Ziauddin read out the declaration of Afghanistan’s Ulama Council which was as follow:
– The country’s Ulama Council supports signing peace deal with Hezb-i-Islami Afghanistan (HIA).
– The council asks both sides to practically step up on content of the agreement and also demands the international community to spare no efforts in the respect.
– Afghanistan’s Ulama Council asks all armed insurgent groups to avail the opportunity, stop war and destruction and solve their problems through negotiations.
– The council supports the Afghan National Security and Defense Forces (ANSDF) as well as the government’s economic plans and calls it the important responsibility of the system.
– The council asks all security entities to appropriately welcome the returnees and step up to solve their problems.
– The council once again asks the relevant in-charges to practically step up and prevent all types of corruption in the country.
Thanking the council for its declaration, President Ghani said, ‘for the first time in the course of history, an inter-Afghani negotiations process has been successfully accomplished.
Addressing the Ulama, President Ghani said, that you were the big assets of the country and you play significant role in ensuring peace in the country.
Economic movement has formed in the country, as today the cornerstone of six factories worth $350mln on second Saroubi power dam, President Ghani added.
Doing business enjoys special position in holy religion of Islam, President Ghani said.
Adding to develop economy, we have talked with United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia officials to share their experiences with us in Islamic banking.
