Kabul (BNA) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan briefed journalists in a session yesterday in Afghanistan embassy to Washington related to results of Afghanistan high-level delegation visit to the US.
In the session held for open discussion, asking and answering in connection with aims and achievements of Washington visit, challenges and opportunities in Afghanistan, chief executive while considering Washington visit as successful and effective said recent visit of Afghanistan delegation to Washington has opened a new chapter in relations between the two countries and both sides started discussion and negotiation with cooperation and understanding morale. “US sees national unity government as representative of the people of Afghanistan and has committed to continued cooperation and assistance to this government in various military, economic, peace and reconstruction fields,” chief executive added. Chief executive enumerated US decision related to gradual withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, providing budget and expenses of Afghanistan armed forces till the end of 2017, declaring of $ 800 million to NUG and formation of joint working committees as achievements of the recent Washington visit.
In the session, journalists asked various questions in connection with US and Afghanistan relations, peace talks with Taliban, Afghan security forces’ condition, measures of Afghanistan government related to murdering of Farkhunda in Kabul, Afghanistan regional relations in particular with Pakistan and rising of Daesh and its threats in Afghanistan. Replying a question, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah said the government of Afghanistan would never submit the control of a province to Taliban and would not ignore the government’s achievements made in the past 13 years for peace talks with Taliban. According to another report, chief executive delivered speech in ‘The Heritage Foundation’ in Washington. The foundation’s program director while welcoming chief executive called Dr. Abdullah Abdullah as one of US friends and successful politician.
