President Hamid Karzai met Audronius Azubalis, the Foreign Minister of Lithuania yesterday .
Both sides discussed issues of mutual interest including the progress made in Afghanistan within the past years and the transition of security responsibilities to the Afghan security forces.
Describing the progresses in Afghanistan as positive, Foreign Minister Azubalis said that he had visited Afghanistan several times but has seen more progress in his last visit to the country.
President Karzai thanked Lithuania for its military and civilian assistances to Afghanistan and appreciated the role by the Lithuanian forces in ensuring security in Ghor province.
In the attendance to the meeting also were Deputy Foreign Minister of Political Affairs, Jawed Ludin; National Security Advisor to the President , Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta and Presidential Chief of Staff, Abdul Karim Khuram
