Deputy Foreign Minister Attends Annual Meeting of Central Asian Deputy Foreign Ministers

Kabul (BNA) Deputy Foreign Minister Idrees Zaman participated in the 8th Central Asian States Deputy Foreign Ministers Meeting hosted by Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek with the cooperation of UN Preventive Diplomacy Center for Central Asia. This meeting was inaugurated and chaired by the UN Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Mraslove Ince UN special Representative and Head of the Preventive Diplomacy Center Ms. Natalia Garman, and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyz Republic Ms. Dinar Kamlova.
Mr. Zaman termed strong relations with Central Asia as one of the priorities of Afghanistan’s foreign policy.  He said his first official visit as Deputy Foreign Minister to Central Asia clearly signified how important it is for Afghanistan to further bolster ties with the Countries of the region.
Participants of the meeting emphasized on further strengthening the economic relations among Central Asian countries and Afghanistan. The Republic of Uzbekistan expressed its readiness for hosting the next meeting in Tashkent next year.
