IDUAI Marked In Kabul // CE Lauds Media Pioneers/MoICs’ Message On The Occasion

Kabul (BNA) Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in a meeting held to mark International Day for Universal Access to Information (IDUAI), here in Kabul said anyone in any rank should be investigated in term of their assertions, the BNA reported the other day. He said accessing information was the right of any Afghan citizen and called media role too effective in reporting the truths and lauded those who dared any risks to help the people get access to information in the country, the agency added. The Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) in a message congratulated the international day for universal access to information (IDUAI) and said the leadership of the ministry called freedom of expression, the main pillar democracy and the access to information, the basic pillar for strengthening the freedom of expression in the country. The message said, the international day for universal access to information is being marked, while the ministry’s officials and the media entities are working in this field. The ministry in the message went on as saying that this was the responsibility of the ministry of information and culture and the ministry had made effort to provide and coordinate the ground for the people to get access to information, said the agency quoting the message from the ministry. Remembering the day provides opportunity for both the ministry’s leadership and media outlets to once again renew their commitments in timely providing the people with access to information, the agency said. The ministry, to conclude with, renewed its commitment that would work hard to help the any citizen of the country get access to information, according to the law.
