Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in a visit with media authorities said that the government was committed to media freedom and supported their freedom under any circumstances.
BNA political analyst commenting on the issue writes recently President Ghani visited the authorities of the country’s media. The visit takes place in a series of the visits of president with political elites, the civil society’s activates, cultural people and scholars aiming to receive their opinions regarding to political and security developments and improving cultural and social situation of the country. The president in the visit with media representatives informed them about political and security affairs, the achievements of government in that regard, the results of Warsaw and Brussels conferences on Afghanistan and attraction of foreign investments in Afghanistan. What have the president discussed with media representatives in the meeting were issues, almost daily discussed by media and evaluate compatible and non – compatible views regarding to them. The president in the meeting considering media freedom one of the most important achievements made it clear that the government committed to media freedom and supports the free activities of media in any circumstances.
The statements of the president demonstrate that the state seriously supports the activities of media and their opinions are of great importance for development and directing the country toward prosperity and tranquility. Because, media as the mirror that clearly reflect the incidents of the country and repeats and express the people’s views. The people view the media in a view, therefore it is necessary the media to act in full responsibility and further commitment than before in order to meet the expectation of the people. Our country is passing through a difficult and challenging situation and the enemies of the country are trying to establish further gaps and problems among the people. In this situation, media can play a vital role in ensuring national unity the real strength and power of people and foil the conspiracies of certain foreign circle who want to great a gap between the state and the people.
The media can achieve the patriotic aim this is national unity to have clear and transparent definition from national interests and widely disseminates this altruistic goal. Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for removing the current problems of the country has drafted and implemented effective measures and programs and due to the bravery of security forces the attacks of armed oppositions have considerably reduced. In political section, currently Afghanistan is at the focus of world attention. In addition, in economic section great successes have achieved in the national and regional levels. These great achievement and successes depend to the people and media should further mobilize the people for implementation of the state’s programs and plans.
