FM To Visit Brussels To Attend NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting

Kabul (BNA) Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan will visit Brussels to attend NATO Foreign Ministers meeting after the end of official visit of the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday Dec. 1, 2015.
It is intended that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan will speak at the “Resolute Support Mission Meeting”. In this meeting, in addition to Afghan Foreign Minister and Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the member states of Resolute Support Mission (RSM), Foreign Ministers of Japan and Republic of Korea will also participate.
In this meeting, the participants will discuss and take decision on the extension of (RS) mission till the end of 2016, work on the sustainability of commitments for financial support of the Afghan National Security and Defense Forces till the end of 2020, and planning for NATO presence in Afghanistan with civil leadership after the end of (RS) mission.
In addition, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will brief the participants regarding the capabilities, challenges and requirements of  the Afghan National Security and Defense Forces, achievements of the Afghan government in the areas of reform, fight against corruption, rule of law, good governance, election reforms and human rights support especially women and juvenile rights, as well as underline Afghan Government commitment to further work in the mentioned spheres, in order to further meet the expectations of its international partners and community.
Minister of Foreign Affairs will accompany the President in his Europe trip to Berlin, after the conclusion of NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting.
