HPC Chairman Officially Introduced

Kabul (BNA) In a gathering attended by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, Chief Justice and head of Supreme Court as well as a number of government high-ranking officials and National Assembly members, Karim Khalili officially introduced as High Peace Council (HPC) chairman, a statement from the president press office said on Sunday.
Thanking Karim Khalili for accepting the post, the president said,  “as a Muslim, we are obliged to change peace into a reality and sustainable achievement,” according to the statement.
While praying to souls of Shaheed Prof. Burhanuddin Rabbani and late Pir Sayed Ahmad Gilani for their efforts in restoring peace in the country, the president said it was a big catastrophe that our great nation has not had strong government.
“Sustainable peace would not restore in Afghanistan unless a strong government is created,” the president said.
“Peace cannot be made behind closed doors,” the president said.
Lauding the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) devotions and braveries, the president said the roots gave us great patience and make us focus on great objectives is the result of a hundred generation’s sacrifices, the statement continued.
The president added that disunity, insecurity and creating poisonous atmosphere re not at the interest of anyone.
Based on a presidential decree, Karim Khalili as HPC chairman, Haji Azizullah Din Mohammad, Mawlavi Ataul-Rahman Salim, Sardar Mohammad Nadir Naeem, Mawlavi Abdul Khabir Ochqoun and Dr. Habiba Sarabi as deputies and some others as members and advisors of the council have been appointed.
