Kabul (BNA) Eight March the International Woman Day was marked in Nangarhar’s provincial capital Jalalabad with the presence of First Lady here yesterday, BNA reported.
Attended among others by Nasrin Oryakhil, Minister of Labor, Presidential Advisor, Dr. Abdul Qayum Kuchi, writers and women rights activists, the message of Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah was readout by Nangarhar provincial governor, Salim Kunduzi.
Former lawmaker, Safia Sediqi and Anisa Omrani, head of women affairs department of Nangarhar spoke about the women status in the province.
Speaking on the occasion, the first lady, besides conveying the regards of president to women of Nangarhar and expressing her happiness over observing eight March, said that the president is committed to solve women problems in the country.
The first lady also presented gifts to some women including police woman and women doctors and teachers in the province.
