Hundreds of Families Access to Solar Power in Kandahar

Kandahar (BNA) Hundreds of families in Kandahar were supplied with electricity by solar energy.

The network was built within the framework of the Citizenship Pact of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development at the request of the villagers in Spin Boldak district.

An official from Kandahar Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department told BNA that the network generates 16 kilowatts of electricity and supplies nearly 1,000 to Noro families with energy.

The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has spent 4,400,000 Afghanis to build the solar power grid.

Villagers are happy to have access to electricity for the first time.
