Kabul (BNA) India is among those countries that has played effective role in rebuilding Afghanistan as of roads construction, mines, health, and scholarships are key examples that the greatest democracy of the world has contributed to Afghanistan and absolutely can be effective in the direction of Afghanistan economic development.
The Indian authorities have said that based on their old ties with Afghanistan, they want to be part of Afghanistan solution, and support Afghans-led peace talks. They said, we hope all countries who are friendly and have strategic relations with Afghanistan would contribute sincerely in the direction of Afghanistan peace, security, stability and economic development. Afghanistan signed the first strategic agreement with India as the country has been one of the biggest donors in the last 14 years in rebuilding Afghanistan in different fields. Therefore, maintaining and developing good relations with this country is in the benefit of our people. Beside India, Afghanistan has always been trying to establish friendly relations with all countries of the world, including neighbors and expect the regional countries to have good approach with us.
A number of economic experts and political analysts consider close relations with India in the interest of Afghanistan, request further enhancing of the Indian investments in the country, because no doubt Indian investment can cause economic growth and creation of employment opportunities and eventually ensuring reliable security and stability.
There are a lot of opportunities in Afghanistan that can attract investors and the Afghan government should utilize them in favor of its progress and growth. The Afghan government should keep balance in its relations with the world and regional countries. Without cooperation of regional countries, restoration of peace and stability is impossible. They should support Afghanistan post-2016. Beside economic cooperation, India has also made serious efforts in training of ANSF and we are sure would be committed to post-2016 Afghanistan. India has also played positive role in capacity building of government employees and offered thousands short and long term scholarships to Afghan youth. The Afghan refugees in India have not complained on behavior of Indian people which is manifestation of their sincerity against the Afghan people. Every year, hundreds of Afghans go to India for treatment and return with positive results and good memories. Construction of the new parliament building, Salma Dam and a road in Zaranj are frank examples of India’s honest cooperation with the Afghan people. Since 2002, India has contributed over two billion US dollars for Afghanistan’s rebuilding. The recent visit of Indian Prime Minister to Kabul once again confirmed India’s strong determination to support Afghans in war on terror. Suraya Raiszada
