Dostum Asks Takhar Ulama To Act Against Immorality

Kabul (BNA) Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, Acting President met with a number of Ulama and religious figures of Takhar province yesterday, BNA reported.
In the meeting, Gen. Dostum said Ulama and religious figures were lantern holders of values of Islam in the country and the people and government of Afghanistan trusted in them.
Gen. Dostum asked Ulama and religious figure of Takhar to further work for maintaining peace and uprooting immorality in the society. During the meeting, Ulama and religious figures of Takhar province declared their support from programs of the new government. At the end, Mawlana Hasib, one of Takhar’s Ulama gifted a version of Holy Quran, newly translated into Uzbeki to Gen. Dostum.
According to another report, Gen. Dostum met yesterday with Abdul Samad, an official for political section of UNAMA to Afghanistan.
In the meeting, Gen. Dostum said that role of UNAMA was significant in resolution of political issues of Afghanistan, adding that as Afghan government was stressing on maintaining peace and stability in the country, UNAMA could also support the process.
In return, UNAMA official, Abdul Samad recalled that UNAMA was making efforts step by step with leadership of Afghanistan towards maintaining peace and supporting the government’s measures in this regard. Based on another report, Gen. Dostum called on Dutch ambassador to Kabul.  In the meeting, Acting President, Gen. Dostum hinted on recent deadly incident of Paktika and added that although the enemies of the people of Afghanistan by attacking on a playground martyred dozens of our countrymen, but such deadly incidents could never tear apart our people’s morale and our sportsmen would be always successful in sports competitions.
In return, Dutch ambassador to Kabul Hunk Yan Baker while congratulating to Acting President on the occasion of formation of National Unity Government asserted that Paktika incident saddened all of us and the international partners of Afghanistan, expressing deep sympathy and condolence on this occasion. He recalled that Dutch parliament has recently approved a draft related to enhancement of Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) capabilities and providing financial assistance to Afghanistan. According to another report, Gen. Dostum met yesterday with chargé d'affaires of the Kirgizstan embassy to Kabul Ochon Aminov.  In the meeting, Acting President said Afghanistan had a strategic location in the region, adding that stability and security in Afghanistan could effect on stability and security in the region.
Dostum asked Kirghizstan to help Afghanistan in various sectors as construction of railway, extraction of mines and economical activities. In return, Kirgiz ambassador to Kabul said that his country was committed to providing economic, political and cultural contributions to the people of Afghanistan, adding that foreign minister of Kirghizstan in Beijing Conference reiterated his country’s commitment and cooperation with Afghanistan in training of cadres, construction of railway and other sectors.
