ICRC Assists Medical + Medicine Supplies to Paktia Public Health Department

KABUL (BNA) Public Health Ministry says the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) assisted $20,000 worth of medicine and medical supplies to the Paktia Department of Public Health.

The ministry said in a statement that the aid package would be distributed to health centers in Paktia province and Will be used to boost health services.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health state, that due to challenges in banking sector, the process of producing drugs and medical devices is facing problems, and as a result, the price of scarce pharmaceutical items in the market has increased.

The Ministry of Public Health pleads the United Nations not to deal politically with Afghanistan’s health sector and to continue assistance and support the country’s health institutions.
