KABUL (BNA) The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) donated 16 vehicles to the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) aimed at providing transportation facilities to people living in remote parts of the country, ARCS said in a statement Sunday.
The vans are Land Cruiser type, which is equipped with a communication system that can be used in provinces to help people, according to the statement.
Mawlavi Mutiul Haq Khalis, the head of the Afghan Red Crescent society, appreciated the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross while handing over these vehicles and said that these vehicles will be used to help the people at the provincial and central levels, according to the statement.
He asked the International Committee of the Red Cross and the international community to continue their assistance to the people of Afghanistan.
