IE Representatives should have the Right to Attend UN Meetings on Afghanistan: Haqqani

KABUL (BNA) Country’s Acting Interior Minister, in a meeting with the head of UNAMA, said that the representatives of the Islamic Emirate should have the right to attend the United Nations meetings on Afghanistan.

Acting Interior Minister, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani met with Roza Otunbayeva, head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, UNAMA, said the Ministry in a statement.

The security has been improved better more than ever in the country in the past two years, said Minister Haqqani, during the meeting, quoting the statement.

He said that the representatives of the Islamic Emirate should have the right to attend in the United Nations meetings on Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Mr. Haqqani hailed the humanitarian aid of the United Nations to the needy people of Afghanistan.

For her part, Ms. Otunbayeva, head of UNAMA and special representative of the UN Secretary General for Afghanistan, expressed satisfactions over maintained security in Afghanistan, she reminded travelers from remote areas to the center has increased due to maintained security.
