IEA Banned Non-Ferrous Metals Export Abroad

KABUL (BNA) The Economic Commission meeting chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, banned exporting non-ferrous metals abroad on Monday.

The commission meeting decided to form a joint committee of the Ministries of Finance, Urban Development, Economy, Agriculture, and Municipality of Kabul has been tasked to arrange the process of transferring the “deputy department of lands” from the Ministry of Urban Development to the Ministry of Agriculture, added a statement.

In a special decree, the supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate ordered transferring of the Department of Lands from the Ministry of Urban Development to be added to the Ministry of Agriculture, further added the statement.

The Economic Commission also directed Da Afghan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) to conduct a detailed survey on the remaining costs of the Cheek power dam in Wardak, and submit its report to the next meeting of the commission.

The Cheek power dam has three turbines that have the capacity to provide 3.9 megawatts of electricity after restoration.

The Economic Commission finalized its decisions banning, nonferrous metals raw materials exports aboard, the smelters could purchase the products from traders, added to the statement.

Meanwhile, the Economic Commission tasked another committee of Ministers of Economy, Finance, Industry, and Kabul Municipality to take practical steps to resolve the problems of industrial parks.
