IEA Ready to Start Uzbek-Afghan-Pak Railway Project Work: Muttaqi

KABUL (BNA) Afghan Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, in a meeting, on Friday with Uzbek top official, Sardar Omar Zakov, in Tashkent, stressed on boost trade and transit cooperation between the two neighboring countries.

A meeting, concentrated discussion on bilateral ties, transit, cooperation in the agriculture sector, and the start of the railway between Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, held between Afghan and Uzbek top officials in Tashkent, said a statement by the Afghan Foreign Ministry.

Muttaqi said in the meeting that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is ready to take an initiative step, to start railway project work to survey the map by railway experts.

For his part, the Uzbek side said that the survey works for the railway project will commence shortly in Afghanistan.

The Uzbek official Zakov assured its country’s cooperation in the sector of Afghanistan’s agriculture and vowed that they would establish clinics for agricultural and animal diseases.

Meanwhile, Amir Khan Muttaqi said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan strives to establish good diplomatic and trade ties with the world countries, especially with its neighboring countries.

Lately, Amir Khan Muttaqi led a high ranks delegation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and traveled to Tashkent to attend two days “International conference on Afghanistan” in Uzbekistan.
