Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with the deputy of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mrs. Christian Berley at the Presidential Palace yesterday.
The deputy of ICRC briefed the president regarding the activities of the committee and reiterated its commitments to continue the humanitarian activities in Afghanistan.
He said that all the activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Afghanistan are done in compliance with the principle of neutrality and its purpose is humanitarian services for the people of Afghanistan.
The President appreciates the efforts made by the International Committee of the Red Cross in assisting the Afghan people, especially evaluation of prisoners’ condition and orthopedic services for the people with disabilities; he said that the experience of this committee for change in the structure of the prisons in the country would be fruitful.
