MAIMANA (BNA) Officials in Faryab say a drug addict killed five people and wounded another in Qaisar district of the province.
Mawlawi Shamsuddin Mohammadi, Faryab’s director of information and culture, told BNA that a drug addict first shot and killed his wife and wounded his father, then an ethnic minor, a 16-year-old girl and another young man, and killed one of his relatives.
The source added that the assailant also clashed with the security forces, as a result of which one of the security forces was martyred and the assailant was also killed in a shooting by security personnel.
The cause of the incident is said to be unknown, but the investigation is under way.
