Adela Raz Sees World Bank’s Role Important In Economic Projects

Kabul (BNA) Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, Adela Raz met World Bank’s Country Director for Afghanistan, Bob Saum here in her office yesterday, a MoFA statement said.
Besides welcoming Bob Saum to Afghanistan, the deputy foreign minister expressed gratitude for the important role played by World Bank in Afghanistan over the last years, as well as its cooperation towards the implementation of economic programs and development projects in the country.
Thanking the World Bank for supporting various sectors in Afghanistan, Raz added that the government of Afghanistan is very much focusing on economic and infrastructural projects, and attaches great importance to the regional economic cooperation.
In return, the World Bank’s Country Director briefed Deputy Foreign Minister on the Bank’s programs and activities in Afghanistan and while highlighting the indispensable role of regional cooperation and implementation of major economic projects in the region, he once again reassured of the Bank’s continued cooperation to Afghanistan.
In the meeting, both sides called Brussels Conference a perfect opportunity to attract and encourage the cooperation of friendly countries and the international community for Afghanistan.
They also discussed and exchange views on other issues, including the preparations for the said conference.
