Senate Questions Deputy Ministers To Counter-narcotics, Public Health

Kabul (BNA) Senators questioned the deputies to ministry for counter-narcotics and ministry of public health yesterday, BNA reported.
The questions, according to BNA were focused on how to check poppy cultivation, controlling drug smuggling, medical treatment of drug addicts in the country.
Chaired by Fazal Hadi Muslimyar, the house also condemned the suicide attack in Baghlan that killed over a dozen people including Mohammad Rassoul Mohsini the head of provincial council and criticized the intelligence organs for failing to prevent terrorist conspiracies.
Senators in the session also called the remarks of UN envoy to Afghanistan on approving the law on elimination of violence against women a breach to diplomatic norms, saying it is the responsibility of the legislators to approve the law in accordance with the Islamic teachings.
Islam, the senators noted that Islam has already guaranteed and ensured the rights of women.
They also described the current visit of President Hamid Karzai to India as pre-planned.
The senator also said the Pakistan is involved in insecurity in Afghanistan, saying the students of Pakistani seminaries were in holiday and have been sent to Afghanistan to attack innocent Afghan people. So far these so called students have caused heavy casualties and destructions in our country.
