India’s first transit cargo exported to Uzbekistan via Afghanistan

Kabul(BNA) The first shipment of Indian merchandise, which entered Afghanistan through the Torkham border on Wednesday, has exported to Uzbekistan through the port of Hairatan.

Nooruddin Azizi, the acting Minister of Industry and commerce, who spoke Wedensday about the transfer of this cargo through Afghanistan to Central Asia, said that with the transfer of this cargo, the first practical step have taken to turn Afghanistan into a crossroads for trade and transit in the region.

The Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce added that the Islamic Emirate is working to further strengthen trade and transit relations between Afghanistan and the countries of the region.

The Minister of Industry and Trade added that the transfer of India’s trade cargo through Afghanistan to Central Asia reflects the agreement of neighboring countries and the region to strengthen trade and transit cooperation.

On the other hand, representatives of the private sector, who attended the transfer of India’s first shipment of goods to Kabul, welcomed the Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s initiative to strengthen trade cooperation with neighboring countries and the region, saying that Afghanistan has the capacity to become an economic crossroads. The start of the transit process between the countries of South Asia and Central Asia through Afghanistan is a big step in this sector.
