Dr. Rasoul Farewell Meeting With US Outgoing Ambassador

Kabul (BNA) In a banquet hosted by foreign ministry, minister of foreign affairs Dr. Zalmai Rasoul had farewell meeting with the ambassador of the US Ryan Crocker whose term of office in ended in Afghanistan.
According to BNA report quoting from the press and information department of foreign ministry, hinting on friendly ties between Afghanistan and the USA, Dr. Rasoul said that when for the first time you had come to the Kabul in 2002 to reopen the embassy, we freshly left behind the long dark war time, violence and terror, success over challenges of maintenance of security in the life of people, changing of Afghanistan into a stable and democratic nation seemed impossible.
Today we are prideful member of international community and are moving toward a peaceful and self reliance tomorrow Afghanistan.
No doubt, this is the achievement of your ten years cooperation with us.
Then, expressing his pleasure over this tenure in Afghanistan, the US ambassador said that ten years after the establishment of new system in the country, the US and Afghanistan are today two allies and strategic friends in region and world level.
He played his key role in finalization of signing of strategic cooperation agreement between Afghanistan and the US that is signed in May of current year by the presidents of the two countries and last week have came under execution through exchange of notes between the two nations in Kabul.
The banquet was attended by senior officials of Afghanistan including presidential security advisor and Minister of Public Health as well as the officials of the embassy of the US in Kabul.
