Wednesday October 15, 2014
Kabul (BNA) Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met yesterday with dozens of school teachers at the Presidential Palace.
Presidential press office stated BNA, at the meeting held with participation of acting Minister of Education Farooq Wardak, school teachers while congratulating the President on his election as President of Afghanistan enumerated a series of problems. They asked the President that laws on teachers and employees affairs for Ministry of Education were not somehow beneficial to teachers and in law of civil services, capacity building and promotion of teachers’ ranks up to a particular level were not useful for encouragement of teachers, so changes needed to be brought in the law. In the meeting, the teachers blamed the government for not providing shelters to school teachers, saying distribution of lands in remote areas of cities to teachers could not solve their problems, so it was good that the government puts end to the shelter problems of teachers through providing loans or installment.
