Iran Should Lift Banking Restrictions for Afghan Businessmen, Afghan FM

KABUL (BNA) Afghan Foreign Minister met on Thursday with Iran Ambassador to Kabul Bahadur Aminian.

A meeting concentrated on Afghan living in Iran banking accounts restrictions took place, among Afghan Foreign Minister and Iran top diplomats in Kabul, according to the Afghan Foreign Ministry statement.

Mr. Muttaqi asked Iran to lift banking restrictions on the money accounts of Afghan traders in Iranian banks and shared the problems of Afghan immigrants and traders on the matter.

Afghan Foreign Minister discussed with the Iranian delegation about the release or fate of Afghan prisoners in Iranian prisons, ask Iran to hand over Afghan prisons to the Afghan government, and added to the statement.

Concerning the recent incident in Kerman, he said that no one should be allowed to weaken the relations between the two countries with such actions.

Meanwhile, Iran’s special representative in Afghanistan said It is necessary to invent facilities for the growth of transit and trade between Iran and Afghanistan.

Mr. Qomi said that he has shared the matter with Iran’s central bank and the problem will be resolved soon.

He mentioned that he will hold meetings with related agencies to resolve the problems of Afghan prisoners and Afghan workers.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that to solve several issues, a delegation of different agencies of the Afghan government will travel to Iran and will discuss and share their requests with the host officials.
