Kabul (BNA) The close relation between Qatar and Afghanistan and the influence of Qatar on Taliban makes the role of Qatar in Afghan peace process very significant.
BNA political analyst commenting on the issue writes Ashraf Ghani the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for an official visit has gone to Qatar. The visit takes place in invitation of Sheikh Tamim Bin-e-Al-e-Thani the Amir of Qatar. The visit takes place in time Afghanistan considers international cooperation and coordination as a guarantee for economic growth in the region and insists on expansion of relation among world countries particularly Islamic countries.
A war torn Afghanistan suffering critical crisis seriously requires the cooperation of Islamic countries, particularly Qatar.  This country with a strong economy and with rich experiences in investment in other countries can play a constructive role in economic growth of Afghanistan, employment and investment in the country.
The above-mentioned matters are also at the agenda of president Ghani’s tour to Qatar.
The press office of president has made it clear that president Ghani during his stay in Doha will meet the Qatari council of merchants and in his meetings with high-ranking officials, including Sheikh Tamim Bin-e-Al-e-Thani Amir and the Prime Minister, Abdullah Bin-e-Nasir-e-Thani of that country will discuss the above issues. On the other hand, Taliban has opened their political office in Qatar. This indicates that Qatar enjoys of having great influence on Taliban, while Afghanistan uses every opportunity and resources to insure peace in the country and expresses gratitude for any honest cooperation the lead to peace and stability in our country.
We are hopeful that Qatar plays honestly its role in bringing peace and stability in Afghanistan as the Afghans expect. Such cooperation will win the hearts and minds of Afghans who have never forget friendship and cooperation.
