Kabul (BNA) The 9th OCB meeting on financing and equipping the Afghanistan’s Security and Defense Forces co-chaired by Eklil Hakimi Minister of Finance and Richard H. Riley, Assistant Chief of Mission for US. Embassy Kabul, Sharmila Bihari, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Development Cooperation of the Netherlands Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan at the Ministry of Defense.
In the meeting minister of defense, deputy minister of interior, military generals, ambassadors and representatives from 23 donor countries were also present.
The participants discussed on the progress and achievements of Afghanistan after Warsaw and Brussels conferences, implementation of mutual security commitments between the Afghan government and donors, funding and equipping security and defense forces, security and defense forces, security read map (counter-terrorism and narcotic, leadership development, training anti-corruption and future plans), financial reform, working progress in the center for justice and judiciary, institution building and reforms in security and defense sectors.
The OCB meeting takes place once in a six months and the co-chairmanship is handed from one donor country to another in a period of six months. Formerly co-chairing was taken over by the United States of America and was transferred to Netherland for next six months.
The members of OCB are those countries are helping the security sector.
