Jamhuriat Hospital Restarts Operation In New Building

Kabul (BNA) Jamhuriat Hospital began its operation in the new building which had been constructed by financial assistance of the People’s Republic of China on Tuesday. 
Presidential press office said BNA, the ceremony was participated by Mohammad Karim Khalili, Second-Vice President, Dr. Suraya Dalil, Minister of Public Health, Mr. Deng Xijun, Ambassador of China to Afghanistan and a number of other authorities from    governmental and non-governmental institutions, said a statement by the MoPH.
Addressing the ceremony, Mohammad Karim Khalili, Second-Vice President said that the operation of Jamhuriat Hospital was good news for the people of Afghanistan and expressed his hopes, with the activation of this hospital, demands of Afghans from traveling abroad for seeking the treatment, can be reduced, according to the statement. While emphasizing on fairness in providing health services for all residents of Afghanistan, the second-vice president termed the focus on health of children and mothers so important.
The Minister of Public Health, Ms. Suraya Dalil, while thanked the People’s Republic of China due to its cooperation for construction of the new building of Jamhuriat hospital said many tireless efforts have been made from beginning of my office up to general directors and senior managers of the ministry including directors for better operating of this hospitals.   The minister said: “fortunately today we witness that new building of Jamhuriat hospital having 154 beds started its operation in sections of emergency services, general internal, general surgery, laparoscopy, ENT, blood diseases, gastroenterology and Hemodialysis”.
Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador to Kabul Mr. Deng Xijun called the Jamhuriat Hospital as one of advanced health facilities in Afghanistan, saying his country is committed to continue its cooperation for prosperity and stability of Afghanistan.  
At the end of ceremony, technical MoU was signed between the Minister of Public Health and Ambassador of China, based on that China sends a group of professionals to Kabul in order to provide technical assistances to Jamhuriat Hospital and Afghanistan provides accommodation opportunity for them.
