KABUL (BNA) A coordination meeting was held on Saturday to view the completed work and opening of the second phase of the Kajaki Dam project.
In a press release, the Ministry of Water and Energy said that a meeting was held in Kabul between the Acting Minister of the Ministry of Energy and Water Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor and the officials of Turkey-77 Company.
During the meeting, Minister Mansoor called the completion of this project a positive step towards progress in the field of energy production in the country.
Minister Mansoor said that the project is a valuable achievement and a successful experience through public participation in the implementation of the Ministry’s projects.
The second phase project of Helmand’s Kajaki Dam was implemented by the Turkey-77 company through a public-private partnership and after the completion of this project, Kajaki’s power generation capacity will boost to 100 MW capacity.
The production capacity of Kajaki Dam was 51 megawatts, and its production capacity will be increased to 151 megawatts after opening the second phase.
