8th Round of Extraction Begins In Ainak Archaeological Site

Logar (BNA) Directorate of archaeology for information and culture ministry has started eight round of extraction in Ainak copper mine historical site. 37 Afghan archaeologists including 12 foreigners with donor partners have started extraction based on general and professional instructions. It is determined that 15 other archaeologists and nearly 650 workers would be deployed for this round to work in this sector until the end of 2016. Ainak Buddhist area which is located 38 km in south of Kabul has been under extraction since 2009. During the extractions, 1134 movable and immovable relics, stone, golden, wooden, copper, silver and various other objects and monuments have been found. It is worth mentioning that 12th round of extractions have been recently started in Narinj Tapa by Ministry of Information and Culture.
