Kabul (BNA) Eklil Hakimi, Minister of Finance met ýJin Liqun, President of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Beijing of China on 23rd March 2017, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement yesterday.
Both sides discussed the AIIB cooperation to Afghanistan, funding and financing of energy, water and railway projects, AIIB president and technical team trip to Afghanistan helps to establish the priorities and new opportunities and some other important subjects, the statement added, saying Afghanistan was able to gain membership of the Bank.
Meanwhile the Minister also thanked the board of governors of the bank for Afghanistan’s membership in the mentioned bank. Afghanistan’s membership in this bank will open a new chapter of cooperation for economic growth and rapid development, the minister concluded the statement as saying.
