Large Consignment of Taliban Explosives Discovered in East

Mehtarlam (BNA) Security officials in east of the country succeed in detecting and seize a large consignment of Taliban explosives.

The consignment, allegedly loaded from Pakistan, was discovered last night in Qarghay district of Laghman on Kabul-Jalalabad highway.

A man has been arrested in connection with the consignment of explosives.

A senior Laghman security official in east told BNA that thousands kilograms of explosives were recovered from the shipment.

He added that the bomber had planted explosives in a car.

The detainee confessed to being a member of the Taliban in the first investigation and said that the explosives were to be given to Taliban groups in parts of the east of the country.

The Taliban obtain most of their explosives from Pakistan, use it to make bombs, mines and suicide vests and also use it’s in their attacks in Afghanistan.
