KABUL(BNA) Russia’s foreign minister has said that the West is trying to bring Ukraine into a global conflict instead of Afghanistan, and has ignited war in that country.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister Mahmood Qureshi on the sidelines of a meeting of Afghanista foreign ministers in Tunisia China.
Lavrov said that those who tried to make Afghanistan the center of world politics are now trying to replace Ukraine with Afghanistan.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Minister stated that Moscow was opposed to the deployment of US or NATO forces in the vicinity of Afghanistan or the transfer of military equipment to neighboring Afghanistan.
Russia has been involved in the war in Ukraine for more than a month, the establishment of a system in Kyiv is similar to that of Austria and Switzerland.
Russia has previously declared the geography of the former Soviet Union as its security zone, which is why it has always complained about the presence of foreign troops in Afghanistan and now complains about NATO and US intentions in Ukraine to the extent that it took military action.
