MoIC Holds Debate On ‘Youth’s Role In Sustainable Peace’

Kabul (BNA) A debate on “Youth’s role in sustainable peace’ was jointly held by the Ministry of Information and Culture’s (MoIC) deputy ministry on youth affairs and Afghan Women Network here yesterday at the Ministry of Information and Culture’s Press Hall.
According to the Kabul Times reporter, addressing the debate, Dr. Kamal Sadat deputy minister of youth affairs said youths were playing key role in bringing sustainable peace and they were required to step up efforts on the aspect, so that Afghans live in a peaceful atmosphere.
“Youth’s role in peace process shouldn’t be symbolic.  They must be given the chance, so that we witness a country free from bloodshed and violence.” He added.
Later on the ministry’s peace ambassadors Rahmatullah Noorzai and Abdul Naser spoke related challenges before youths.  The debate continued with panels attended by representatives from High Peace Council, Ulema Council, Industries’ development association and US institute for peace.
The representatives, including that of the Afghan Women Network expressed their views on establishing durable peace and youth’s role on the aspect which was welcomed by the participants.
