Long-term Strategy Of National Army Of Afghanistan Discussed

Kabul (BNA) The National Security Council Meeting was attended by vice-presidents, senior minister, ministers of defense, interior, foreign affairs, finance, acting minister of energy and water, general director of national security department, chief of staff, and some generals of national army and chairman of the commission for transition of security.
The meeting discussed training equipping of national army, seeking ways for strengthening of the national army that can in the long-term independently defense of the country.
General Commander of the Armed Forces, President Karzai after evaluating the long-term strategy of the defense ministry, advanced specific questions on equipping and supplying of national army, its structure, independent financing of defensive forces of the country and specifying of its sources after 2014.
After discussions on those issues, the National Security Council instructed the Defense Ministry to provide answers for the questions in the coming meeting so that in the light of that decisions will be adopted.
