KABUL (BNA) Up to 1,500 kilograms of low-quality items, mostly edible staff have been collected around the Kabul city’s 1st municipality district and taken to a special site for distraction, the Kabul Municipality said in a statement Tuesday.
“The low-quality goods have been collected from different markets in the 1st district and transferred to an appropriate area for elimination,” said the statement from the municipality.
The collected edible items included milk, milk cream, jam, cooked bean, chips, chocolate, biscuit, insect killers, shampoo, soap, various kinds of juices and detergents, the statement said.
The municipality has earlier collected a wide quantity of low-quality items in various parts of the capital and set them ablaze.
The campaign has also been launched in other provinces such as Mazar-e-Sharif, Kunduz and Herat provinces, where large quantities of low-quality and date-expired food items and medicines have been rounded up and torched.
