HERAT CITY (BNA) Italian government was committed to continue its assistance to Herat in development sectors after 2014.
Italian senate chairman in a meeting with Fazlullah Wahidi, governor of Herat stressed once again on his country’s long-term assistance to Afghanistan and its people.
In the meeting, Peter Giraso expressed pleasure for high morale of cooperation between Italian military, ISAF forces and Herat local administrative and security officials, assuring of the cooperation of his country’s forces and assistance for acceleration of reconstruction process and helping in improvement of overall condition of the province after 2014. He said, “We are sure the cooperation will be effective and continued in future.”
Pointing our related to Italian cooperation with judicial organs of Herat, the Italian senate chairman stressed that Afghanistan Chief Justice was also happy about the effectiveness of the such cooperation. In respond to request made by governor of Herat province related to starting a plan for development of airport and asphalting Chesht-e-Sharif road, the Italian senate chairman said that execution of the project was being reviewed by Italian officials and would be soon implemented.
In the meeting, Sayed Fazlullah Wahidi said Herat people would never forget cooperation of Italy and its people.
Praising Italy for its commitment and cooperation in development and reconstruction sector, Wahidi added, “Afghan people are happy about Italy’s cooperation because the assistance has been continued in various sectors in the past years.”
At the end of the meeting, an inclusive sign of the Italian senate was granted to governor of Herat and chief of Herat provincial chief. Gifts and sign of governor office were also granted to the Italian chairman of senate.
