Meeting Held To Prepare Bamyan As SAARC Cultural Capital

Kabul (BNA) Acting Minister for Information and Culture, Sayed Mosadiq Khalili chaired a meeting and discussed the preparation of Bamyan as cultural capital of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in 2015.
According to BNA report, the meeting also attended by Bamyan governor Ghulam Ali Wahdat, officials from the ministry for information and culture and concerned ministries and departments, Khalili briefed the participants about his visit to Colombo and exchange of views on organizing cultural and art festivities in Bamyan in 2015. The participants presented their proposals and suggestions for preparation of Bamyan as SAARC cultural capital. Governor Wahdat in his proposal said that the ministry for finance has yet to allocate any budget for Bamyan authorities to take necessary measures for organizing the festival. Members of the commission after visiting Bamyan also proposed for renovation of some places where festivities to be held, besides calling on national businessmen to play their due role in better arranging the festival where eight big cultural shows to be held.
