90 Pc Fuel Materials In Afghan Local Markets Lacking Good Quality

Kabul (BNA) The officials of Afghanistan Fuel and Liquid Gas Association have reported that  almost 90 percent of oil and liquid gas in the Afghan local markets are lacking good quality, saying despite the concerned organ discussed the matter with the high level organs, the issue still exist and this would tragically affected the public health.
“The government should seriously react to this as it would lay damaging impacts on health of the people, this horrific trend and today 80 percent of liquid gases existed in our local markets are lacking good quality,” chairman of Afghanistan Fuel and Liquid Gas Association, Engineer Faridullah Sherzai said, adding that last week a number of recommendations were dispatched to the president as well.
The physicians believe that using of low quality fuel materials leads to outbreak of several diseases such. In response to the accusations, Afghanistan Norms and Standard Organization has strongly rejected the allegations and urged that currently six lab are operating on ports of the country to prevent entry of low quality fuel materials in the country. It’s said that low quality fuel materials are entered in the country through smuggling and only over the last six months, 400 tankers carrying low quality oil have been stopped in the western port of the country while in last few months another 380 tankers were stopped in borders.
In the meantime, the people have expressed major apprehensions over the growing low quality fuel materials imports in the country and they asked the government to undertake necessary steps for preventing the entry of low quality fuel in order to protect the health of the Afghan people and the environment. This comes at a time that in the last such allegations had mounted by the people to force the government prevent the issue.
