Mes Aynak’s contract with MCC Needs to be Reviewed: Economic Commission 

KABUL (BNA): Economic Commission meeting presided by Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar on Monday tasked the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum to review the Mes Aynak contract with MCC, and provide and report to the next meeting.

The deputy Prime Minister’s press office released a newsletter today Monday said ” the economic commission meeting decided to form a commission on the chair by Ministry of Mines and Petroleum a joint committee of relevant Ministries of Finance, Industry, and Urban Development, a representative of the economic commission, to assess and analyze the detail “technical aspects” of Mes Aynak contract signed with the Chinese company (MCC) a reported to be submitted in the next meeting of the commission.

After detailed discussions, Da Afghan Breshna Sherkat was allowed to terminate the contracts of the company’s involuntary projects with the contracting companies, submit its equipment and maintain it properly, added to the press release.

On the other hand, the commission has tasked a joint committee of the Ministries of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Industry, Commerce, the Customs Department of the Ministry of Finance, and the National Standards office to conduct technical and research discussions on the globalization of the “Abu Naseer Farahi” commercial port, and a report to be submitted on the next meeting on the matter.
