Military Operation Leaves 17 Rebels Dead in E. Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) At least 17 anti-government militias were killed during a military operation conducted by Afghan security troops in eastern Nangarhar province within the last 24 hours.
The military operation has started 10 days ago by participation of hundreds Afghan security personnel with support of Afghan air forces in insecure areas of Shirzad and Hasarak districts of the province.
Sylab army corps by releasing a statement reported, 17 armed oppositions including their two senior commanders were killed during the military operation in the last 24 hours.
Dozens village have been cleared from being of Taliban fighters in Shirzad and Hasarak districts of the province during the military operation.
Taliban said nothing about the incident so far.
According to another report, Afghan security forces succeeded to discover and confiscate 16 round of different type of mines in crowded areas of Nangarhar province.
No one was arrested accused of the foiled mine plantings.
