Aibak (BNA) Pistachios Product have increased in Samangan province this year, according to Samangan officials of agriculture office, residents of that province have gained 265 million Afghanis from the sale of pistachios.
Mohammad Osman Hanfi agricultural head of irrigation and livestock department of Samangan told BNA, pistachios natural forest products have grown 26 percent, compared to last year.
According to the source, pistachios sales increased by 55 million Afghanis compared to last year.
Agriculture official of Samangan said that there are currently 42,000 hectares of pistachios forests in Samangan province that these forests are in different areas of Hazrat Sultan, Feroz Nakhcher and Dara-e-Soof Bala District.
These products are stored annually by government and collected by people.
It is said that 100 tons of pistachios are expected to be export to European.
