Afghan UK Mission Welcomes Cricket Heroes

Kabul (BNA) The Afghan embassy in the United Kingdom (UK) offered a warm reception in the honor of the national cricket team upon their arrival to UK.
Afghanistan ambassador to the UK Taib Jawad welcomed the national squad to London a head of Tuesday match against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).  The envoy hailed the recent success of the national team and their individual performances that earned them and the country name at the world stage.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chairman Atif Mashal thanked ambassador Jawad and his team for organizing the event.
He also thanked the Afghan diaspora in the UK for their support to the Afghan team.
The Afghanistan national cricket team would strive to win its first-ever match against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Lord’s in London on Tuesday.
The MCC team would be captained by Brendon McCullum,. Former New Zealand skipper in the 50 over game, said a statement from the Afghan connection Group.
