Unity, Solidarity Needed To Restore Peace In Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) A seminar titled ‘Towards Reaching Peace and Lasting Security’ was held on Monday in Sciences Academy here in Kabul.
In the seminar, regional studies center’s director Ghafoor Liwal, first spoke in connection with recent efforts of the Afghan government for reaching peace and stability and said, “Peace is a dire need and it is impossible to access to political, economic, cultural and social developments without it in the country.” In a peaceful environment, the country’s all citizens can reach social justice, enforcement of law and good governance and all regional gaps will end, according to Liwal. Acting Chairman of High Peace Council, Masoum Stanekzai while praising President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani for his peace efforts said reaching peace was a long-term process.  Enumerating key obstacles towards reaching peace in the country, Stanekzai said the cultural of violence which has intensified extremism and distrust in the country should be changed to culture of peace, adding that all tribes should gather and put an end to differentiations and discriminations. Stanekzai considered implementation of big economic projects in the country as effective causes for restoring peace in Afghanistan.
After brief assessment by Ghafoor Liwal, the seminar ended and in general, holding such seminars was considered as effective and valuable in current situations.
