Accepting The Security Responsibilities Of Kapisa Province By Afghan Forces

Sunday, July 08, 2012
Kabul (BNA) Now the security responsibility of 75% of the territories of the country belongs to Afghan forces.
According to BNA report, presently French forces are stationed in some parts of that province, where Taliban and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar led-Islamic party insurgents are partially active there.
France intends to withdraw its forces from Afghanistan until the end of Current year.
General A. Wardak the defense Minister in a ceremony held for handing over security responsibilities to Afghan forces clearly said, he had no concern in that province, and there will be no any security gap there.
He added, since two years, the Afghan forces have been gradually getting the security responsibilities of their country.
The defense minister emphasized that they have the capability to ensure security in relevant areas of Kapisa province.
Without doubt, Afghan security forces with their specific characteristics are ready to carry out security jobs in their country, but expect the international community to fulfill their commitments regarding equipping Afghan forces and persistent support of those forces at world level and finally realizing the promises made in Chicago.
The trust on Afghan security forces increased, when they took the lead on conducting controversial and sensitive night operations, and neutralized several terrorists’ attacks with high spirit and coordination.
Now, worldwide trust on Afghan security forces as NATO chief in his recent statements, regarding to Afghan forces said,” I believe them,”  and pointed  out that the Afghan security forces are getting the security responsibilities of their country and the process is on the right track.
Although, NATO general commander expressed his trust to Afghan security forces, but pointed to shortage of military equipments and weapons to be considered.
He added, NATO will offer its assistance and support Afghan force in that regard.  The defense ministry authorities and relevant sources who have visited Afghan troops to settle their problem if they had, they have never complaint their accommodations, but they have complaint about the oldness of their weapons or shortage of military equipments and weapons.
Without doubt relevant authorities have did their best to solve these problems, but non-equipping of Afghan national army with heavy weapons and slow pace of air force development, and finally shortage of armored vehicles are the main problems, which the international supporter of Afghan army should focused on.
Defending the territory and preventing the interference of other countries, especially the neighbors are the right of every country.
Afghanistan is obviously challenged and threatens by foreign interventions.  Therefore, has the right to be equipped with defending system, to response, the threats.
Afghans hope, the countries that support Afghanistan among them USA and other NATO members to have a proper and sound strategy toward equipping our security forces.
