Kabul (BNA) Messages of congratulations have been received by President Karzai, vice-presidents, speakers of both houses of parliament, cabinet members, Supreme Court, and the attorney general from different government departments and non-governmental foundations on the 20th anniversary of victory of Jehad of people of Afghanistan.
The messages recall the sacrifices of the Mujahideen against the Red Army of the former Soviet Union on the 8th of Saur 1371 with the sacrifices of 1.5 million Afghans having fought for the freedom of the country.
The messages also assure that they will not refrain from any efforts towards preservation of the territorial integrity, building and prosperity of the homeland and they will continue struggle against corruption that is weakening the achievements of the country.
The messages also support the peace program of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, transition of security responsibility to the Afghan forces, and have asked the opposition forces to lay down arms and join the peace process and avoid further fratricide in the country.
The messages have been sent by the employees of the ministries of refugees and repatriates, public works, labor and social affairs, higher education, energy and water, ambassador and employees of Afghan embassy in Japan, central statistics, school of Saardar Mohammad Daoud Khan, Haji Abdul Qadir, Kabul education department, public health ministry, Turkmen Shura, doctors nationwide union, lecturers of Kabul university and other organs.
