Minister Delawar Urges for the Commence of Practical Work on TAPI

KABUL (BNA) Acting Mines and Petroleum Minister, Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar, in a meeting with Mohammad Murad Amanov, Executive Chairman of “TAPI Gas Pipeline” asked for the start of the practical work of the TAPI project.

During a meeting with Amanov Executive Chairman of TAPI, the Afghan Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum asked for the start of practical work on TAPI project, according to the Ministry’s statement.

According to the Ministry, both sides in this meeting discussed several other issues of mutual interest and mainly the start of practical work on TAPI project.

Amanov praised the support of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the efforts of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum in the implementation of this project, he stressed on the continuation of his country’s cooperation with Afghanistan.

He said that works of the TAPI project is completed successful and said that they have plans to carry out its practical works.

According to the Ministry’s statement, the sides held discussion and exchange views on the signing of a tripartite land acquisition agreement between the Ministries of Mines and Petroleum, Agriculture and Livestock and TAPI and gas Distribution Company to the industrial parks and the residents of Herat.

At the end of the meeting, the representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture and Livestock, Finance, Environmental Protection Department and Da Afghanistan Bank have pledge to cooperate in the implementation of the mentioned project, added the statement.

The TAPI project is about 1,800km long and transfers Turkmenistan’s gas to India through Afghanistan and Pakistan.
