Media Delegation’s Visits To Bolster Afghan-Pak Ties, FM

Kabul (BNA) Fourteen Pakistan Journalists who have come to Kabul through support of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung foundation called upon Minister of Foreign Affairs here on Monday, a MoFA statement said.
At the outset, FM Rabbani welcomed Pakistani journalists, saying their visit to Kabul and Afghan media delegation’s visit to Pakistan would leave positive impact on bilateral ties. He further added such visits would improve understandings between the two countries as war and bloodshed would be not the solutions.
Foreign Minister went on saying that Pakistan was hosting Afghans during Jihad and still around 3 million Afghan refugees residing in the neighboring country. He thanked Pakistani people, hoping the two countries witness peace and stability.
At the end the Pakistan journalists asked questions on peace, war and the two country’s joint cooperation.
According to another report, Minister of Foreign Affairs Salahuddin Rabbani met with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Central and South Asia affairs, Alice G. Wells.
Wells congratulated the Afghan Foreign Minister for the successful holding of the 7th Istanbul Process – Heart of Asia conference.
FM Rabbani appraising the hosting of the conference by Azerbaijan and counted this conference, hearing different countries’ views, and reaching a positive result as significant. The Afghan Foreign Minister emphasized the regional consensus efforts by Afghanistan.
Also, Wells counted the Kabul Process which is due to be held in soon as significant and stated that it is important for the regional countries and international community to hear more from Afghanistan when it comes to peace. Minister Rabbani also counted peace as the only solution for Afghanistan. Both sides discussed and exchanged views on political, security, economic, and regional and trans-regional cooperation subjects.
