Kabul (BNA) The museums are the base of relation between cultures and civilizations and enjoys of having a special place in lightening the minds of people and expansion and development of tourism industry.
BNA social affairs analyst commenting on the issue writes May 18 is the international day of museums. The museums are a confident and safe place for keeping relics, the relics which explain the history of man and inform the contemporary communities about the life and development of men in the past.
For Afghan people whose country, is one of the most ancient countries of the world and have seen many civilizations, museums have special importance.
Afghanistan is rich and full of historical and ancient monuments and relics, the monuments relics that need to be kept safe because they can help us in management of national assets.
Unfortunately, security and monetary   problems have caused to pay attention on to our historical monuments and relics as it expected. Conflicts during the last 40 years serious harmed our museums and other historical monuments and we were witness of plundering national museum and its relics.
Fortunately, the incentive and efforts for enrichment of museums in the country is high and great. During the last years, ministry of information and culture in cooperation of credible international organizations particularly UNESCO has succeeded to return back many stolen relics in to the country and prevented the smuggling of hundreds of items of relics and returned them back in to national museum.
In spite of all efforts made, still the smugglers of antiquities in the country are active and using the insecurities, with illegal excavations in historical areas of the country have seriously damaged and plundered our historical monuments and relics which are our national assets. The smugglers use a neighbor country as a
Market for selling the relics, in this way tries to damage the historical identity of our country.
While with protecting these relics not only we can transmit our identity and our rich culture to the next generations, but with placing properly the relics in the museums we can improve tourism industry in the country and provide the ground for inner and foreign explorers to continue their exploration in this field.
The museums reflect the identity and culture of the countries and work as a base for building relation between different cultures in national and international level.
National Museum in Kabul and other museums in some provinces are a part of our honors; they are very rich and standardized, therefore, it would be necessary to take active part for further enrichment of this national asset and improvement of traditional culture and reflect them to the new generations.
